Landscapes are my primary focus, but I have a long-running series of abstracts with metal leaf embedded in the surface. I simply love focusing on pure color, often colors that wouldn't appear in landscapes, with a little glittery bling on top. This painting is created by alternatively layering thin coats of ultramarine blue and a deep cobalt violet, using a technique designed to add significant texture and visual depth. The 23K gold leaf is fused to the surface of the painting. It has a lot of shimmer in it, best seen in the second, side-view photo.
