24” diameter, round encaustic on panel

This wave painting captures the power and energy of an ocean wave, as seen through the porthole of a ship. I started with multiple layers of thin transparent blues and greens, and then splattered opaque colors on top, to mimic the frothy energy of a wave.

The sides of this painting are painted a cobalt blue, to match one of the predominant colors of the wave.
