Art New England Cover Feature

Maine encaustic artist Marcia Crumley painting of October Marsh is the cover feature of fall 2025 Art New England. Encaustic marsh painting in vivid autumn orange and gold, with pops of red trees. This painting is full of rich color and texture.

September-October 2025 issue

October Marsh, an encaustic painting from my most recent solo exhibit - Finding Joy - was selected as the cover feature of the September/ October 2025 issue of Art New England. The theme of the exhibit reflects our individual and collective need to seek out moments of joy in these anxiety-ridden times. The 21 paintings that were included in the show at Blue Door Gallery in York, Maine captured the delight and wonder of those times when the beauty of the natural world suddenly stops you in your tracks. While a number of the paintings from the show have sold, there are a few still available on my web site under Large Works. (See the link above.)

The issue also includes a publisher's note discussing the importance of "envelopes" - safe spaces we escape to for peace and quiet, contemplation, distraction, or solace. The essay discusses October Marsh as one of these envelopes. "Let’s be grateful we can take a walk along the marshes of Cape Ann, MA, through the cover image by Maine artist Marcia Crumley....Crumley creates a beautiful envelope, a trusted path, and an ideal cover to inspire opening these pages.“ The magazine also included a preview of the show.
